Ron Klain is a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden and was a senior adviser to President Barack Obama on the Recovery Act, judicial selection, and other matters.
A senior executive with a private investment firm, Klain served as chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore and Attorney General Janet Reno. He ran the Senate Democratic Leadership Committee staff for Democratic Leader Tom Daschle and was chief counsel of the Senate Judiciary Committee. A former associate counsel to the president in charge of judicial selection, he has worked on the selection or confirmation of six current members of the Supreme Court. Klain also helped prepare Democratic presidential candidates for debates, starting in 1992. In 2000, he headed the Gore recount effort in Florida.
