Part of west Antarctica is melting so rapidly that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration says it has passed the point of no return, Bloomberg News reports. There's enough water in the glaciers in the Amundsen Sea region to raise global sea levels by as much as four feet (1.2 meters). The United Nations reckons the seas have already risen by 19 centimeters since the Industrial Revolution.
